Over the years we as a family have had many hamsters! All Syrians.
Ashamed to say the very first one we had (about 25yrs ago) did not have our attention, I had a young baby, so little Hammie wasn't tamed (my fault) and we re-homed it after my young toddler put his finger through the bars and was bitten.
Many years later and after starting to rescue small pets my love for them was rekindled.
We rescued and then 'adopted' a very tame Syrian named Custard Cream. She lived a very long life and was sadly missed.
Later came Minnie........a cute baby Syrian from a pet shop. Shannon was very patient and had tamed her within a few weeks. Unfortunately not long after we woke one morning to find she had passed away overnight. Lots of shed tears!!
After deliberating for quite a few weeks we decided to get one from a breeder. Sam from Satine-hamstery was quite local and had a Syrian long-haired satin girl. We were smitten straightaway.
Shannon has named her Gucci and has excitedly spent loads on her cage and bits for her.
Nov 08:This adorable Hamster named Custard Cream was rescued along with Nacho a guinea pig. We couldn't bear to part with her so she found a home in Shannon's bedroom
This is Minnie. She was so friendly and loved to run around in her ball and run into everything.
Unexpectedly passed away
Gucci a Syrian Black eyed Cream long-haired Satin.
She is so tame and loves to come out and explore.
She has the prettiest face with her huge marble black eyes.
Although blurred you can see the satin on her coat as the light reflects
