After Shannon and I joined B'ham Cavy Club and the National Cavy Club we couldn't wait for the 1st show. On October 13th 2007 at Over Whitacre, B'ham we took Patch and Bud just for a bit of fun.
Hey, it's serious stuff for the breeders I can tell you. They're a friendly bunch. The pet owners do well too and they get a chance to show off their piggies. My friend Traci won a trophy and a rosette for her pet piggy.
We couldn't believe where ours came!
Bud won 1st in Juvenile Merino 5/8mths
and also came 3rd in Juvenile Coated 5/8mths
and Patch come 3rd in Juvenile Pet Owned Adult
we were so proud of them!!
Can't wait for the next one.
Well the next one arrived15th March 2008:
This time Patch came 1st in Juvenile Pet Sow Adult
then 1st in Juvenile Pet Sow Challenge AA AA (any age/variety)
then 2nd in Juvenile Pet B/S (boars/sows) Ch AA
BUT: Smudge one of our baby piggies that Elliot had came:
1st in Juv Pet Boar Under 5mths
1st in Juv Pet Boar Challenge AA AA
1st in Juv Pet B/S Ch AA
and so won a rosette!! I bred a champion ha ha!!
And Bob bless him came 3rd in Juv Pet Boar 5/8mths
and Louise's Roxy came 3rd in Juv Pet Sow U5mths
Then May '08:
Mimba our baby lemon agouti rex won a rosette!!
Best Juvenile owned pet - she won for her loving being tickled under the chin!!

Then at the Stafford County Show:

2nd Juv Pet S/B U'5
Honey: 3rd Juv Pet Sow Adult
So all her points added up to win a marble trophy for coming
2nd out of all the Juveniles
AND won a trophy for Best Pet for 2008!!

He won out of all the pet piggies that was at the show on his personality. David Beckham Doyle the judge said he was 'cheeky.'
